What to Wear on Casual Friday + Moments of the Week

What does 40-weeks pregnant look like?

I'll post photos soon...I promise.

But today I thought I would share a few of my favorite bloggers rocking styles that would be incredible for your next casual Friday at work...

Julia with Gal Meets Glam

Audrey with Casual Glamorous (and her adorable baby bump!)

Rachel with Pink Peonies

Wendy with Wendy's Lookbook

Moments of the Week:

"I'm Gonna Miss This" Moment

The market on my downtown city block has these amazing cookies.
This is the scene that unfolds every time I am there:

I'm walking slowly by the cookie counter.

Cookie Man behind the Counter:  "You look like you would like a cookie!"

Me: "Oh...me?  No...I'm okay."

Cookie Man behind the Counter:  "Maybe your baby would like a cookie?"

Me:  "Oh...him?  Yeah...yeah I suppose he would!  Why thank you!"

And yes...it's as awkward as it sounds.
But my baby really does like these cookies...

"Hot Mess" Moment
My husband snapped this photo.
He said he wanted to capture the beauty of his uber pregnant wife as she watches tv.
Somehow I don't really believe him...

"It was Bound to Happen" Moment

While walking around the cafeteria performing my lunch duty (one of the more glamorous aspects of my job) a 2nd grade boy raised his hand.  I walked over and the following exchange took place:

Observant Boy:  "Ms. G!  You wore those jeans already this week!"

Me: "Oh my gosh...you are so observant Johnny!  You're right...but I don't really fit into a lot right now so...you know..."  (I stopped talking here because I realized I was giving an excuse to a 2nd grade boy).

Observant Boy:  "It's weird of you."

Me:  laughing "Yeah...I suppose it is Johnny.  I promise I won't let it happen again."

Have a wonderful weekend and thank you so much for reading!

All kids, young and older, really do pay attention to these things! Wish adults would figure that out. You look beautiful relaxing on the sofa.

Awww! You DO deserve that cookie, girl! (And a ton of others!) I'm not gonna lie - I keep checking your blog/twitter feed wondering if your little boy has made his arrival! I can't wait to hear when he has!

They never notice the things we do or wear well, they always notice the things we don't want them to! My students so kindly told me that my hair looked better BEFORE I colored it. Gotta love the honesty of elementary kids :)

This little boy is way more observant than my hubby! Your doggy is so adorable looking like he needs a bite of that cookie too.

Have a great weekend!

You can still enjoy a cookie or two sily, especially while breastfeeding, but say goodbye to that helpful cup holder! And Jeramie is right, you do look beautiful! :) xo

Your job sounds like such a joy! So many fun stories to share that put smiles on all for our faces! Glamorous jobs with bitchy people have nothing on teachers and peeps who work with our kiddos. And, that photo makes me wonder what my belly will be holding up come week 40....Best wishes for a safe, healthy and happy delivery of little man!

Aww, thanks for including me Marion! I always love your Friday posts...your stories always make me laugh. I hope you're feeling good! Hang in there friend! XO

Everything about this post I love :) It's a proven fact that babies in utero love cookies (trust me, it's a tested fact) And I still miss my baby bump ledge, also known as counter top to glasses, bowls, and crumb catcher ;)

it sounds really odd now, but i always noticed when my teachers wore the same thing repeatedly. i mean, we're staring at them for long enough to register what they're wearing, right? and i think the belly shelf is super cute ;)

Out of the mouths of babys...ha ha. He will definitely be a style icon when he grows up :-)
You are beautiful no matter what you wear and someday he will understand the dilemmas of being pregnant.

Janine said...

haha that is so funny about the little boy, even funnier that it was a boy and not a girl that noticed, maybe he will grow up to work in fashion...

I love the photo of you on the sofa, I actually think it is a really beautiful photo!!

hahahaha I love that he noticed your jeans. i mean, who notices the same JEANS? also, that photo of you is hilarious. i love it. sweet drink holder you got there... wait, that sounds totally creepy. i don't mean it to be though! lol

CC said...

I totally did that (rested my drink on my tummy) while pregnant. :) Actually I did both. Thankully I was due in June, so I lived in stretchy dresses (and yes the same one s couple of times a week) - which was good since I owned one pair of maternity jeans that my little guy hated. He would seriously throw a kicking tantrum inside of me until I took them off. :) Bossy little dude.

Ha ha! I had a dress I wore constantly when I was pregnant. After having my son my husband made me give it away he was so tired of seeing me in it.
